Method 1 of 2: Using the New Tab page

If Google Chrome does not open the New Tab page, click the '+' icon to the right of the rightmost tab at the top of the Chrome window to open a blank tab.

This option is in the popup menu. An Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window will open.

Go to the file location where the image you want to upload is stored and then double click on the photo you want to use.

If you use the 'Google backgrounds' menu, you only have to click once on the image you want to use

This will add the image to the background of the New Tab page.

If you are using an image from 'Chrome backgrounds', click 'Done' at the bottom of the window

It's at the top of the "Appearance" group of options.

Scroll through a list of themes until you find a theme you want to use, then click on the theme's name to select it.

Step 6. Click Add to Chrome

It's a blue button at the top of the theme's page. This will install the theme; depending on the theme chosen, you may see the top of Chrome's browser window change to reflect part of the theme.

If the top of the Chrome window doesn't change, click the '+' icon to the right of the rightmost tab to open a new tab. You will see the theme displayed here
