Adobe Illustrator is a popular program for creating graphics, logos, 3D graphics, and lettering. The program has a number of supplied fonts by default, but you may need a special font for a particular project. Its installation is simple and fonts can be easily added to Illustrator. This article will show you how to add fonts to Illustrator.
Steps

Step 1. Find the font you want to use
It is important to note that the font must be complete, i.e. with bold, italics, and other special characters, in order to be recognized by Adobe Illustrator.

Step 2. Download the font to your computer
If it isn't already on your computer, download it and keep it somewhere you can easily find it. Most font files you download from the Internet are compressed.

Step 3. Extract the font
After downloading, extract the font file and save it in the correct location on your computer. This location is different on Windows than on the Mac.
- Under Windows OS, right click on the downloaded font and then click "Install".
- Under Mac OS, double-click the downloaded font, which will open the Font Book and allow you to view the font. Click "Install Font" to complete this procedure.
- Restart Illustrator. Newly installed fonts are displayed in the font menu after the application is restarted and the fonts are loaded into the font library.

Step 4. Open a document
You can create a new document or open an existing one, whichever you prefer.
Step 5. Click on an existing text box or create a new text box with the Text Tool (T)

Step 6. Click on the Draw menu in the main menu
Select your new font from the list of available fonts.
- Note: You can also select a font by clicking the Text-menu in the main menu, after which you Font style > select [your new font].

Step 7. Type your text in the new font
That's all! Don't forget to save your work.
