Exporting your iTunes playlist can be useful if, for example, you want to transfer music to another computer or information about songs on another device. iTunes playlists can be exported from iTunes versions 10 and 11 on both a Windows computer and a Mac.

iTunes will now export all information about each song from the playlist you selected. Think, for example, of information about the artist and the title of the song.

Tips

  • If you want to export iTunes playlists in file formats that iTunes doesn't offer, you can download applications such as Playlist Export at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/playlist-export/id434426826?mt=12&ls=1 and iExporter at http Use://iexporter.codeplex.com/. However, these applications are not supported by Apple, so you should be extra careful to download them from reliable websites.
  • If you export playlist data from iTunes, all information listed under “More Info” will be downloaded, including file size, file format, encoding information and more.
  • The iTunes playlists you export can be imported back into iTunes on another computer. To do this, open iTunes on that computer, click “File,” then “Library” and then “Import Playlist.”
