Tips

  • You can delete a message for everyone in a chat by long pressing the chat, remove from the pop-up menu (or the trash can icon on Android), and Delete for everyone to tap. As long as you do this within seven minutes of sending the message, the message will be removed from the chat on everyone's phone.
  • WhatsApp caches a few megabytes of stored information, which means you can never completely remove all media from WhatsApp's storage space. The only way to completely erase WhatsApp is to delete all chats, remove WhatsApp from your phone and then reinstall it.

Warnings

  • Deleting all messages and/or media from your WhatsApp account will not delete them from the accounts of other WhatsApp users you've chatted with.
  • Once you delete something from WhatsApp, you can't get it back.
