With a private message you can connect with one of your followers without others being able to see it. How do you do that? Just follow these simple steps.
Steps
Step 1. Log in to your Twitter account
Enter your username and password.
Step 2. Make sure that the person you want to message is following you
You can only send private messages to people who follow you.
Step 3. Click on the envelope icon
This will open the "Private Messages" window.
Step 4. Click on "New Message"
You will find this button in the top right corner of the window.
Step 5. Enter the name or username of the person you want to message
Type "@" followed by the name or username.
- As you type, a list of your followers opens up, so you can now click on the name you want.
Step 6. Type your message
Just like with your Tweets, keep in mind that your message can only be 140 characters long.
Step 7. Click on "Send Message"
Tips
- As with your Tweets, your message can only be a maximum of 140 characters long.
- A private message can only be sent or received by a user and his followers. You can message your follower, but if you don't follow him, he won't be able to reply to you.
