This article will teach you how to download a video from Twitter on a computer. There are several websites you can use for this, so if one is offline or doesn't work for a particular video, you can always try another one. Unfortunately, you cannot download Twitter videos on your smartphone.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the TwDown website

Step #1. Open Twitter
Go to in your web browser. If you're logged in, you'll now see your Twitter feed.
- If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address and password and click login.

Step 2. Find a video to download
Scroll through your Twitter feed until you find a tweet with an embedded video (not just a link to a video).
- If you've retweeted a video, you can find it on your profile: click your profile icon, click Profile' from the drop-down menu, then click on the tab Media at the top of your profile, then scroll down until you find the video.
- You can also search for the user who shared the video by typing their username in the search bar at the top right.

Step 3. Open the video
Click the play button to play the video.

Step 4. Right click on the video
You will now pause the video, and you will be presented with a menu with one option.
- If your mouse doesn't have a right mouse button, press the right side of the mouse, or click with two fingers.
- If you're using a touchpad, tap your touchpad with two fingers or press the bottom right corner of your touchpad.

Step 5. Click Copy Video Address
This option is near your cursor. This will copy the address of the video to the clipboard.

Step 6. Open the TwDown website
Go to https://twdown.net/ in your web browser. This website allows you to download many videos on Twitter.

Step 7. Click on the video link text box
This is the white box in the middle of the page.

Step 8. Paste the address of the video here
Press Ctrl+V on Windows or ⌘ Command+V on Mac to paste the link. The address of the video will now appear in the text box.
- You can also right-click the text box and then click To stick in the drop-down menu.

Step 9. Click Download
This gray button is to the right of the text box.

Step 10. Click on the top Download link
This is in the middle of the page. Your video will now open in a new page.

Step 11. Click

Depending on your browser and your settings, you can click the down arrow here to start the download, or you can right-click on the video and then click 'Download Video' in the drop-down menu.
Method 2 of 2: Using the sssTwitter website

Step #1. Open Twitter
Go to in your web browser. If you're logged in, you'll now see your Twitter feed.
- If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address and password and click login.

Step 2. Find a video to download
Scroll through your Twitter feed until you find a tweet with an embedded video (not just a link to a video).
- If you have retweeted a video, you can find it on your profile: click on your profile icon, click Profile from the drop-down menu, then click on the tab Media at the top of your profile, then scroll down until you find the video.
- You can also search for the user who shared the video by typing their username in the search bar at the top right.

Step 3. Open the tweet with the video
Click on the tweet with the video to expand it. Now do not click on the video.

Step 4. Change the URL
In the address bar at the top of your browser, you'll see an address similar to now add sss between https:// and twitter in the address.
The URL should now look like this:

Step 5. Press ↵ Enter
You will now be taken to the sssTwitter website, where you can download the video.

Step 6. Click on one of the Download links
You will now see a number of download links with different resolutions (eg '1280 × 720') in the middle of the page. Right click on the link you want and select 'Save as' to save the video.

Step 7. Click

Depending on your browser and your settings, you can click the down arrow here to start the download, or you can right-click on the video and then click 'Download video' in the drop-down menu. If the video starts playing instead of downloading, right click on the video and select 'Save File'.
