Chatting on TikTok on Android: 10 Steps (with Pictures)

This wikiHow teaches you how to use an Android to message a friend on TikTok and see your incoming messages in your inbox.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Sending a message

Step #1. Open TikTok on your Android

The icon looks like a black square with a white musical note on it. You can find it in your Apps menu.

Step 2. Tap on the bottom right

This button opens your profile page.

Step #3. Tap on Following under your profile picture

This button at the top of your profile shows you how many people you follow in total.

• You can also tap next to Following fans to see a list of users who follow you.

Step #4. Tap on the user you want to message

Find the user you want to chat with and tap their name in the list to open their profile.

Step 5. Tap on the Message button on their profile

You can find this button under this user's photo at the top of their profile. This opens the message screen.

Step 6. Type your message in the text field

Tap the text field at the bottom of the chat screen and type your message here.

Step 7. Tap the red paper airplane icon

This button can be found next to the text field on the right. This will send your message.

Part 2 of 2: Checking your inbox

Step #1. Tap on the square speech bubble icon at the bottom of your screen

This will open a list of all your notifications on a new page.

Step #2. Tap the inbox icon at the top right

This button is in the top right corner of your notification list. Here you can see all the private messages that your friends have sent you.

Step #3. Tap a message in your inbox

This will open your chat in full screen. You can read all messages in the chat and send a reply to your friend.
