This wikiHow teaches you how to tell if a friend has taken a screenshot of a Snapchat you sent.
Step #1. Look for a notification
If you've enabled push notifications for Snapchat, you'll see "(Friend) took a screenshot!" appear on your phone's lock screen when someone takes a screenshot of your Snapchat.
If you haven't enabled push notifications, continue to check manually
Step #2. Open the Snapchat app
This is the app with the white ghost icon on a yellow background.
- If you're not signed in to Snapchat, tap login and enter your username (or email address) and password.
Step #3. Swipe right on the camera screen
Doing so will open the chat screen.
Step #4. Look for two overlapping arrows
The screenshot icon is a right-pointing arrow that appears over the top of a left-pointing arrow. This symbol appears to the left of a contact's name. You'll also see "Screenshot" followed by the time (or day of the week) the screenshot was taken under the icon.
- If your Snapchat has been sent but not opened, you will see a red or purple arrow pointing to the right.
- If your snap is open but not on the screen, you'll see the outline of a right-pointing arrow.
- The color of the arrows is red for a photo snap and purple for a video snap.
