Snapchat is a popular social network for photo sharing, but it can also be used to send quick videos. You can send videos of up to 10 seconds to your Snapchat, and it works the same as Snapchat photos. This means they disappear after viewing, and you can add filters, stickers, and other effects. You can also use Snapchat to video chat with your friends in two directions.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Sending a video snap

Step #1. Open the Snapchat camera screen
This is the screen that first appears when you open Snapchat, and you'll see the image from your device's camera when you open it.

Step #2. Tap Switch Camera button to change which camera you are using
You'll see this button in the top left corner. Tapping it will switch between the front and rear cameras on your device.

Step 3. Press and hold the circular shutter button at the bottom of the screen to start recording
You record as long as you keep the button pressed, up to a maximum of 10 seconds. This is the maximum limit for Snapchat videos.

Step 4. Release the shutter button to stop recording
Recording stops automatically after 10 seconds. After the recording is finished, you will see your recorded video again.

Step 5. Tap the speaker button to change the audio of your video
If you turn off the audio, the receiver will not hear anything. If the audio is turned on, which is by default, the receiver can hear the audio from your video.

Step 6. Swipe left and right to add filters to your snap
There are several filters that you can choose from by swiping left and right. Some filters differ depending on your location. For more information, see how to get the most out of Snapchat's video filters.
By using the slow motion filter, you can double the length of your video. This is the only way to send video snaps longer than 10 seconds

Step 7. Tap the pencil button to draw on the video
This will enable drawing mode and allow you to use your finger to draw on the video snap. You can change the colors by using the palette in the top right corner. See more tips on using the drawing feature.

Step 8. Tap the "T" button to add text
This will add a text bar and open your keyboard. You can move the text bar around the screen and rotate it with two fingers. Tapping the "T" again will make the font larger.

Step 9. Tap the sticker button to add stickers
This open teen menu with many different stickers and emoji options. You can swipe left and right in the menu to view different categories. Tap a sticker to add it to the snap. You can tap and drag the sticker to move it.
Press and hold the sticker to pause the video. This allows you to 'pin' the sticker onto an object in the video and the object will be tracked throughout the video. Check out the more detailed instructions

Step 10. Tap the send button to send your video snap
This will open your friends list, and you can choose who you want to send the video to. You can select as many people as you want. You can also send the video as a story, where it will then be visible to your followers for 24 hours.
Method 2 of 3: Video chat

Step 1. Make sure you are using the latest version of Snapchat
Snapchat introduced updated video chat features in version 9.27.0.0, released in March 2016. You must be using this version or newer of the Snapchat app to send and receive video calls.

Step #2. Open your Snapchat inbox
You can tap the button in the bottom left corner of the Snapchat camera, or you can swipe from left to right. This will display all your recent conversations.

Step #3. Open a conversation in Snapchat with the person you want to call
You can swipe all your existing conversations from left to right to open them, or you can tap the New button at the top of the screen and select the person you want to video chat with.

Step #4. Tap on the video camera button at the bottom of the chat
This will call the other person. Depending on their notification settings, they may need to use the Snapchat app to see that they are receiving a video call.

Step 5. Wait for the other person to answer
If the other person sees the notification that they are getting a video call, they can choose to join the call or just watch. If they choose to watch only, you will be notified that they have recorded, but you will not be able to see them. If they select "Join" you'll see their video and they'll see yours.

Step 6. Double tap the screen to switch cameras during a call
It allows you to quickly switch between the front and rear camera.

Step 7. Tap the Stickers button to add emoji to the chat
Both you and the recipient can see the emoji you add.

Step 8. Press the video camera button again to hang up
This will not end the call, but will stop your video from being sent. To end the conversation completely, close the conversation or switch to another app.
Method 3 of 3: Send a video note

Step 1. Open a conversation with the person you want to send a note to
You can send a quick video note to someone, which is even simpler than a video snap. To do this you need to open a chat conversation with the person you want to send it to.

Step #2. Press and hold the video camera button
You will see a small bubble appear with your video in it. Video notes always use the front camera.

Step 3. Drag your finger to the 'X' to cancel the recording
The recording is sent automatically when you release the button or use the full 10 seconds. To cancel, drag your finger to the "X" on the screen, then release.

Step #4. Release your finger or use the full time to send it automatically
Your video note will be sent automatically as soon as you release your finger or after recording for 10 seconds. Once it's sent, you can't undo it.
