Method 1 of 3: Manage connected apps

Step 1. Go to https://instagram.com and sign up

Before you change your password, make sure no unauthorized apps have permanent access to your account. You must complete these steps in an internet browser, but you can do it on a computer, phone, or tablet.

It's under "Privacy" next to a shield icon with a check mark below it.

This is usually at the top of the menu next to a wrench icon.

Step 7. Enter your current password

To change your password, you must enter the current one correctly in the 'Current password' text field.

Step 8. Enter your new password twice

You must enter your new password and confirm it correctly before you can continue. If you don't spell your password twice, you'll need to re-enter it before you can continue.

Make sure your new password contains at least 8 characters and is a combination of letters, numbers and symbols
