When you delete something, it is generally really gone. However, Instagram keeps all your content even after you delete it, so there's a small chance you'll be able to find it. This article will teach you how to recover deleted Instagram posts with some methods.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Checking Instagram's archive feature

Step #1. Open Instagram
The icon of this app resembles a camera on a rainbow background and can be found on your home screen, among your other apps or you can search for it.
- Since the archive feature was introduced in 2017, the default action is to move/hide messages instead of deleting them. You may find your old content here.
- Log in when prompted.

Step 2. Tap on your profile picture or silhouette

It's at the bottom right of the screen. Your profile page will open.

Step 3. Press ☰
A drop-down menu will appear.

Step #4. Press File
A list of your archived Stories will appear here.

Step 5. Press the Story Archive drop-down menu
A drop-down menu will appear where you can choose between Story Archive or Message archive.

Step 6. Tap an image to view it
You'll see a list of all the content you've archived. Tap an item to see more details and options.
Your post and all original response will be loaded

Step 7. Press ⋮
This is at the top of the message.

Step 8. Press View on Profile to unarchive the message
It will be back in your Instagram timeline as it used to be.
Method 2 of 3: Checking your phone's gallery on Android

Step 1. Open My Files
This app's icon resembles a folder and is usually on one of your home screens, among your other apps, or you can search for it.
- You will only find the Instagram album if you have enabled the feature in Instagram to save your posts locally.
- You will only find videos/photos you took with the Instagram app and not the full post you posted. You will also not find any photos uploaded to Instagram from your default camera.

Step #2. Tap on Internal Storage
It's under "Recent Files" and "Categories."

Step #3. Press Photos
You may have to scroll to see this.

Step #4. Press Instagram
You will see all the photos you have taken with the Instagram app.
Method 3 of 3: View your phone's gallery on iPhone and iPad

Step #1. Open Photos
The icon of this app resembles a multicolored flower. This app is on your home screen. You can also search for it.
- You will only find the Instagram album if you have enabled the feature in Instagram to save your posts locally.
- You will only find videos/photos you took with the Instagram app and not the full post you posted. You will also not find any photos uploaded to Instagram from your default camera.

Step 2. Tap the albums icon at the bottom of the screen
This is usually the second icon from the right, next to "Search".

Step 3. Press the Instagram album
You'll see all the photos and videos you took with the Instagram app, but you won't find a copy of the full post.
