This wikiHow teaches you how to find out the IP address of Facebook, and thus the physical location of Facebook servers.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: In Windows

Step 1. Right click on the Start menu
You'll find it in the lower-left corner of the screen in most versions of Windows. A menu of quick access options appears.
You can also click ⊞ Win+X to open this menu

Step #2. Click on Command Prompt
The icon of this app resembles a square; clicking it opens the Command Prompt.
- If you don't see Command Prompt in this menu, type "Command Prompt" in the search field of Start menus and click Command Prompt at the top of the search results.
- You may not be able to open Command Prompt on a computer on a network or a shared computer (such as at school or work).

Step 3. Type ping www.facebook.com -t in the Command Prompt
There is no specific text field to type in, but the text should appear directly in the Command Prompt command window.
When typing, do not use special characters and only use spaces as indicated

Step 4. Press ↵ Enter
The command is now executed, and with it the address of Facebook is retrieved. You will see a series of numbers, displayed like '12.34.56.78' (or something similar) appear in the command window; this string of numbers is Facebook's IP address.
Method 2 of 2: On a Mac

Step #1. Open Spotlight Search
You do this by clicking on the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the screen.

Step #2. Type Terminal in the search bar
You'll see apps appear below the bar as you type.

Step #3. Click on the Terminal icon
This looks like a black window with a white '>_' in the top left corner.

Step 4. Type ping facebook.com in the Terminal
This command retrieves the IP address from Facebook.
Make sure you don't add extra spaces or characters to the command

Step 5. Press ⏎ Return
The Terminal command is executed, showing the IP address of Facebook.

Step 6. Look at the IP address of Facebook
It's a string of numbers to the right of the line of text, labeled "[Number] bytes of" (except for the colon at the end).
