Have you suddenly noticed that your contact list has tripled? Chances are, an update to iOS just added your Facebook friends to your contacts and calendars. While that can be helpful at times, is it really necessary to have your high school sweetheart on your contact list? This article is going to show you how to manage your data on Facebook in such a way that you only see it if you want to.
Method 1 of 2: Filter Facebook through Settings
Step #1. Open Settings
From the Home screen, tap Settings to open the Settings control panel.
Step #2. Tap “Facebook
Scroll down for the list of settings and search for Facebook. Tap that button to open the Facebook Control Panel.
Step #3. Turn off Contacts
Under "Allow these apps to use your account:", toggle your Contacts switch to Off. This will remove the Facebook contacts from Contacts.
Note: You can also turn off Calendar to remove Facebook events from your Calendar
Method 2 of 2: Disable Facebook in Contacts
Step #1. Open Contacts
In the top left corner of Contacts, tap "Groups." This opens the Groups control panel, where you can manage which contacts are shown.
Step #2. Tap on “All Facebook Contacts
Disabling this will remove all Facebook contacts from Contacts.
- If you only occasionally use Facebook contacts, disabling the Facebook group in Contacts is faster than filtering your contacts from the Facebook settings.
- If your contacts file is large, Groups are a great way to show only relevant contacts for a particular moment.
