Once you upload a photo to Facebook, all your friends can see it automatically. However, you can change this privacy setting so that the photo is only visible to you. You can do this after, but also while uploading a photo. You can also change the privacy settings per album.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Loose photos

Make Photos Private on Facebook Step 1

Step 1. Open the photo you want to protect

You can hide any photo you've uploaded, except your profile and cover photo, and some sections of albums. For example, you can't shield photos that other people have uploaded either. Open the photo so that it takes up your entire screen.

  • You can easily find your photos by clicking Photos on your profile page. This works for both the app and the website.
  • You cannot change the privacy settings of photos on Facebook's mobile website. This is possible with the smartphone app.

Different privacy settings will now appear for that photo.

" This option ensures that only you can view the photo.

  • If the photo is part of a post, you can only change the privacy settings of that post.
  • If you tagged someone else in the photo, that person can still see the photo. The "Only Me" option in this case changes to "Only Me+". If you don't want anyone to see the photo anymore, you'll have to remove all tags.

Method 2 of 3: Albums

Step 3. Select "Only me

" By doing this, the entire album is protected and only you can view the photos in the album.

If other people are tagged in some of the photos in the album, they will still be able to see those photos. If you want to make sure that only you can see the photos, you will have to remove the tags from the photos
