While the original Apple Magic Mouse uses replaceable batteries, the Apple Magic Mouse 2 has a non-replaceable, built-in battery that you need to recharge. This wikiHow teaches you how to charge a Magic Mouse 2.
Step 1. Flip the Magic Mouse 2
Since you cannot replace the battery, you can charge the battery using a lightning cable and a power source.
For the fastest charging performance, make sure the mouse is turned on
Step #2. Locate the lightning port
At the bottom of the mouse you will see a rectangular opening, below some icons and text.
If all goes well, a lightning cable is included to charge the mouse. If you don't have that cable, you can also use another lightning cable
Step 3. Plug the lightning cable into an adapter and power source
Insert the correct plug of the lightning connector into the wall socket. The AC adapter looks like a white cube with a plug on one side that fits into a wall outlet.
To charge the mouse from your computer, connect the USB end of the cable to one of your computer's USB ports. However, you cannot use the mouse while it is charging
Step 4. Connect the lightning cable to the Magic Mouse 2
The lightning cable plug should fit any way.
