Steps
Method 1 of 3: Adding a-g.webp" />
Step 1. Open Messages

This app has a white speech bubble icon on a blue background and is usually in your list of other apps.
If you don't have the Android Messages app, you can download it from the Google Play Store

Step 2. Press

It's a blue circular button with a white "+" in the bottom-right corner of the app. This will open a screen asking you to select a recipient for your text message.

Step 3. Select a contact
When you start a new conversation, tap a name in your contact list or type a name in the "To" field at the top of the screen.

Step 4. Press

Press the circular button with the '+' to the left of the message text field.
- On some text messaging apps, this may be a paperclip icon instead

Step 5. Press

Tap the image icon to select images stored on your phone.

Step 6. Press Gallery
Press the 'Gallery' panel to select the-g.webp" />
Step 7. Select your GIF
Tap the-g.webp" />
If you don't see the specific-g.webp" />
Step 8. Press

This is the paper airplane icon to the right of the text field. This sends the animated-g.webp" />
Method 2 of 3: Using the Giphy. app

Step #1. Open Giphy
This app has the icon with the multicolored outline of a page on a black background and is in the list of apps on your Android phone.
You can download the Giphy app for free from the Google Play Store if the app is not already on your phone

Step 2. Find a-g.webp" />
You can tap the tabs at the top of the screen to search for GIFs by category, or you can use the search bar at the top of the screen to search for GIFs by name or keyword.
The "Popular" and "Comments" sections are usually full of fun animations from popular TV shows and movies

Step #3. Press a GIF
This will display a large version of the-g.webp" />
Step #4. Tap on the green text message icon
This is the green icon with the square speech bubble.

Step 5. Select a contact
If you want to send the-g.webp" />
- These options will vary depending on the default text messaging app you are using.
- You can also add an optional message to the text message by pressing the text field in the message.

Step 6. Press

It's the paper airplane icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. This will send your-g.webp" />
For some apps to send text messages, this button may also be called "Send"
Method 3 of 3: Using Gboard

Step 1. Install Gboard on your phone and set up the app
If you haven't already, install Gboard, Google's keyboard, on your Android phone.
You can download Gboard from the Google Play Store

Step #2. Open your text messaging app and start a new conversation
Using your phone's default text messaging app, you can select an existing conversation or press the option to start a new conversation and then select a recipient from your contact list.

Step 3. Press the text field to write your message
Press the text field to type your text message. For some text messaging apps, this may be called "Text Message" or something similar. If Gboard is set as your default keyboard, this will automatically open the Gboard keyboard.

Step 4. Press

It's the smiley face icon at the bottom of the keyboard, to the left of the space bar.

You can search for GIFs by tapping the category tabs below the GIFs, or by typing a keyword in the search bar if you want to search for a specific GIF.
