This article will teach you how to find hidden images on Android smartphone. You can do this by installing a file manager with options to see hidden files. Unfortunately, you can't use your computer to find hidden files on an Android, due to differences between Android's file systems and those of Windows or Mac.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using ES File Explorer

Step 1. Download ES File Explorer
ES File Explorer is a commonly used file manager that can reveal hidden photos, among other things. Follow these steps to download the app:
- Open the
Google Play Store.
- Tap the search bar.
- Type es file.
- Tap "ES File Explorer File Manager" in the list of results.
- Tap "Install" and then tap "Allow" in the dialog box.

Step 2. Open ES File Explorer
Tap 'Open' in the Google Play Store, or tap the ES File Explorer icon in your Android's app drawer.

Step 3. Go through the app configuration steps
Swipe through the home screens, then tap "Start Now" at the bottom of the screen. You can then click on the X in the top right corner of the 'What's new?' pop-up.

Step #4. Tap on ☰
It's in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 5. Tap the 'Show hidden files' switch

You now turn on the option 'Show hidden files'.
You may have to scroll down the menu a bit to see this option

Step 6. Tap on your Android's back button
You can find this at the bottom right or bottom left of your Android. You can also tap the arrow

top left of the page.

Step 7. Look for hidden images
Navigate to the folder where you want to search by tapping the folder's location (eg "Internal Memory") and then tapping the folder itself. Now you can search for hidden images.
- Hidden files, including images, will be more transparent than normal files.
- Images hidden by the user may have a period in front of the name (eg '.images' instead of 'images').
Method 2 of 2: Using Amaze File Manager

Step 1. Download the Amaze File Manager
Amaze File Manager is a free app that helps you find and view hidden images on your Android. Follow these steps to download the app:
- Open the
Google Play Store.
- Tap the search bar.
- Type amaze.
- Tap "Amaze File Manager" in the list of results.
- Tap "Install" and then tap "Allow" in the dialog box.

Step 2. Open Amaze File Manager
Tap 'Open' in the Google Play Store, or tap the Amaze File Manager icon in your Android's app drawer.

Step #3. Tap Allow on the dialog box
This gives Amaze access to the files on your Android.

Step #4. Tap on ☰
This can be found in the top left corner of the screen. You now open the menu.

Step 5. Tap on Settings
You can find these at the bottom of the menu.

Step 6. Scroll down and tap the white "Show hidden files and folders" switch

This option is somewhere in the middle of the settings page.

Step 7. Tap on your Android's back button
You can find this at the bottom right or bottom left of your Android. You can also tap the arrow

top left of the page.
