A Lifeproof smartphone and tablet sleeve or 'case' is designed to withstand water, dirt and snow. In addition, the covers are shock resistant. The covers fit very well, so they don't come loose easily. Removing a Lifeproof cover should be done gently so that you can continue to use it.
Part 1 of 2: Removing the bottom
Step 1. Locate the charger input on the bottom of the phone or tablet
Open the cover.
Step 2. Locate the small slot on the left side of the charger input
This is made on the cover so that you can easily remove it.
Step 3. Flip the cover over so that the back is facing up
Now turn the bottom of the phone away from your body.
Step 4. Take a coin and insert it into the small slot on the left side of the charger entrance
Push the coin a little further into the slot by turning the coin a little.
Keep doing this gently until you hear a click, indicating that the back and front are separated
Step 5. Slide your fingers into the bottom of the case, where the charger cover is open
You will hear another sound as the other side opens.
Step 6. Push your fingers further in between the back of the phone/tablet and the back of the case
Pull the back of the cover away from the front, using a back and forth motion toward your body.
- You should now feel a number of closures open as you pry the back from the front.
- Don't do that by peeling off the cover. If your hand is not between the phone/tablet and the back of the case, it could break.
Step 7. Set the back of the cover aside
Part 2 of 2: Removing the top
Step 1. Flip the cover over
Take the next step over a soft surface, such as a bed, in case your phone/tablet falls out of the case.
Step 2. Apply pressure to the front of the cover with your thumb tips
Try to do this in the center of the cover.
Step 3. Wrap your other fingers around the sides of the cover
The phone will now click out of the back.
