To get to your appointments on time, it is important to know what day it is and what time it is. Most people use their smartphone for this these days. But what do you do if the date and time of a smartphone is not automatically adjusted, or if something goes wrong? The answer is simple: set it up yourself! Setting the date and time is very easy and takes almost no time.
Step 1. Open "Settings"
From the home screen, tap your Settings icon. From Settings, you can change your phone's preferences, such as Wi-Fi connections, apps behavior, or turn on Do Not Disturb.
Step 2. Tap on "General"
The General section contains the less imaginative iPhone settings, such as gestures, the function of your side button, and configuration of apps.
Step 3. Tap on "Date & Time"
This button is about halfway down the "General" menu.
Step 4. Turn off the automatic setting
Your iPhone's default setting is to automatically adjust the date and time over a Wi-Fi connection or cellular network. If you turn this off, you can adjust the time zone, date and time yourself.
Tap the slider next to "Set Automatically" to be able to set the date and time manually
Step 5. Select your time zone
After you have turned off the automatic date and time, you can change the time zone. Tap "Time Zone" and type in the location whose time zone you want to use.
Step 6. Change the date and time
You will see the date and time appear below the current time zone.
- Tap the date and time. You will see it appear under the time zone after unchecking the "Set Automatically" option.
- Move your finger along the different columns to change the date and time. By scrolling you can change the date and time at the same time.
- If the year is incorrect, you can scroll forward the month until the year is correct.
Step 7. Swipe down from the top of your screen
This will open your notification center, where you can see notifications, date, and calendar events.
Step 8. Tap on Today
You see the date and time, but also the weather. You are done! If the date and time are still not correct, open "Date and time" again in the general settings to adjust it.
