A phone case can contain dirt particles, dust particles and bacteria, so it is important that you clean your own case regularly. Fortunately, you can easily clean your phone case with soap and water. You can also regularly disinfect your phone case with rubbing alcohol and remove stains with baking soda. When you're done, your phone case will look brand new again.
Method 1 of 3: Clean with dish soap
Step 1. Take your phone out of the case
Never try to clean your phone case with your phone inside. Water can get into the openings and damage your phone. Put your phone in a place where it won't get wet.
If your phone case has plastic and silicone components, separate the two parts. Pull the flexible silicone part out of the hard plastic part on the outside of the case
Step 2. In a bowl, mix 250 ml of warm water with a drop of dishwashing liquid
Do not use more than a drop of soap. If you use too much soap, your mixture will foam too much. Stir the soap and water mixture thoroughly with a spoon.
Step 3. Dip a new, clean toothbrush into the soapy water
If you don't have a new toothbrush, use a clean cloth. Stir the bristles of the toothbrush into the soapy water so that they get wet.
Step 4. Scrub the surface of the phone case with the toothbrush
Scrub in back-and-forth or circular motions, treating all the cracks and corners that are hard to reach. Clean both the plastic part and the silicone part of the phone case. Make sure to clean the outside and inside of the case.
Step 5. Rinse and dry the case with a soft cloth
Make sure to rinse all soap residue from the case before drying it. Dry the case with a soft cloth so that there are no scratches in the case.
Step 6. Let the phone case dry for at least an hour
Let the case dry thoroughly and do not put your phone back in the case too soon. Even if the case feels dry, there may still be water on it that can damage your phone. After an hour, put your phone back in the clean case.
Clean the phone case with soap and water if it looks dirty and you see stains on it
Method 2 of 3: Disinfect your phone case
Step 1. Remove the case from your phone
Do not try to disinfect the case with the phone inside. The disinfectant can get into your phone and damage it. If your phone case consists of several parts, take them apart by pulling the inner part out of the hard outer part of the case.
Step 2. Soak part of a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol
Use rubbing alcohol with a strength of 70% or greater. If the rubbing alcohol you're using is in a spray bottle, you can spray it right on the case and don't need to use a cloth.
Step 3. Wipe the case with the alcohol cloth
Wipe both the plastic part and the silicone part of your phone case with the cloth. Be sure to treat the inside and outside of the phone case with rubbing alcohol.
Step 4. Wipe off the rubbing alcohol with a dry, soft cloth
Try to wipe off as much rubbing alcohol as possible. When you're done, the phone case should feel almost completely dry.
Step 5. Wait an hour before putting your phone back in the case
Place the case in a place where it can air dry for an hour. When an hour has passed, put your phone back in the case.
Get into the habit of sanitizing your phone at least once a month to keep it clean
Method 3 of 3: Remove stubborn stains
Step 1. Take your phone out of the case
When you clean your phone case with liquid, it is important to take your phone out first so that it does not get damaged. If your phone case consists of several parts, take them apart by pulling the soft inside out of the hard outside.
Step 2. Sprinkle baking soda over the stain on your phone case
You don't need a lot of baking soda. Use only enough to cover the stain you want to remove. It doesn't matter what kind of baking soda you use.
Step 3. Scrub the baking soda into the stain with a wet toothbrush
Scrub the stain in back-and-forth motions. Keep scrubbing until you remove the stain.
You may not be able to remove all stains with baking soda. If you've been scrubbing for a while and the stain hasn't faded, you may need to use a stronger stain remover to remove the stain
Step 4. Rinse the baking soda from the case and dry it with a soft cloth
After rinsing and wiping the case, let it air dry for at least an hour. After an hour you can put your phone back in the case.
