XAMPP for Windows 7 provides an easy way to install the Apache-MySQL-PHP-PERL-PEAR platform. XAMPP saves you time and effort, and provides the software for creating web environments such as Drupal, Joomla, Moodle or wikiMedia on a Windows PC.
Step 1. Go to https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html with your browser
Step 2. Click on the download link for XAMPP
Step 3. Click "Save" when prompted and wait for the download to complete
Step 4. Open Windows Explorer and locate the installation file
Install the program and launch it.
Step 5. Accept the default settings
A command window will appear that may contain an installation prompt. Just press Enter and accept the default settings. To simplify the installation, just press Enter when prompted in the command window. You can always change the settings later in the configuration files.
Step 6. When the installation is complete, close the command window by typing x at the prompt
Step 7. Launch XAMPP Control Panel
Step 8. Launch Apache and MySQL
You can also start other components if you want to use them.
Step 9. Check if Apache is installed by clicking the Apache link in the Control Panel
Step 10. Check if MySQL is installed by clicking on the link of MySQL in the Control Panel of XAMPP
If the verification steps have been completed successfully, XAMPP is properly installed on your PC. Open a browser and type "localhost" in the address bar of your browser. A page will open informing you that you have successfully installed XAMPP on your system
