In this article, we'll teach you how to send a message using your iPhone hands-free by dictating it to Siri.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Send a text message

Step #1. Press and hold your Home button to activate Siri
If your phone supports it, you can launch Siri by saying "Hey Siri".
- If you don't hear two beeps (or see "How can I help you?" on your screen), open the Institutions on your iPhone, tap Siri and slide the button next to "Siri" to the on position (green).

Step 2. Say "Send a text"
Siri will now ask "Who should I send your message to?".

Step 3. Say the person's name or phone number
Siri now replies with "What do you want to say?".
If Siri doesn't recognize the name, it says "I can't find it. Who should I send your message to?". Try another name, or say a phone number

Step 4. Speak the content of the SMS
When you stop talking, Siri shows the message and asks, "Can it be sent?".
If you're not happy with the message, you can say "Change" to start over, or "Add" to add another line

Step 5. Say "Send"
The message is now sent to the recipient.
You can also combine these steps into one assignment. For example, you can say "Send Sara a message, I'm on my way"
Method 2 of 2: Send an email

Step #1. Press and hold your Home button to activate Siri
- If you don't hear two beeps (or see "How can I help you?" on your screen), pen the Institutions on your iPhone, tap Siri and slide the button next to "Siri" to the on position (green).
- If your phone supports it, you can launch Siri by saying "Hey Siri".

Step 2. Say "Send an email"
Siri will now ask "Who should I send your message to?".

Step 3. Say the contact's name or email address
Siri now replies with "What is the subject of your email?".
If Siri doesn't recognize the name, it says "I can't find it. Who should I send your message to?". Try another name, or say an email address

Step 4. Say the subject of the email
This is the text that will appear as the subject line. So say a few words that summarize the content of the email.

Step 5. Say the content of the email
When you stop talking, Siri shows the message and asks, "Can it be sent?".
If you are not happy with the message, you can say "Change subject" or "Change message" to start over. You can also add a new line to the message by saying "Add"

Step 6. Say "Send"
The message is now sent to the recipient.
You can also combine these steps into one assignment. For example, you can say "Send Maria an email, I can't find my keys, so you have to stay at home". Siri will now ask you for the missing data (in this case a subject)
Tips
- You can add punctuation by mentioning the name of the character, for example "comma", "period" or "question mark".
- To capitalize the first letter of a word, say "capital letter" before the word.
- Say "Caps Only" before a word to capitalize the entire word.
- Add emojis to your message by saying "smiley", "frowny" or "winky".
- To write a number as number (3) instead of a word (three) say "Number 3"
