To catch Darkrai in Pokémon Platinum you need a Member's Card. Unfortunately, the only official way to get a Member's Card is to attend a Nintendo event that ended in 2009. You can still get Darkrai, but you'll need to use a void glitch to finish meeting Darkrai. or hack the game with an Action Replay. Steps
Step 1. Get Professor Oak's National Pokedex
This happens after you defeat the Elite Four. You can find it in Professor Rowan's lab in Sandgem Town.
Step 2. Wake Sailor Edrith's son
You can find him in Canalave City. To cure him of his nightmares, you must travel to Full Moon Island and get a Lunar Wing from Cresselia.
Step 3. Save the game and shut it down
You must use an Action Replay to get the Member Card.
Step 4. Buy an Action Replay
Action Replay is a program that allows you to use cheat codes for various games. You buy one online, or at a toy store. Make sure you buy one that is compatible with your system (i.e. Action Replay for DS, DS Lite, DSi, 3DS, etc.).
Step 5. Enter the Darkrai Event Codes into your Action Replay
You add Action Replay by connecting your Action Replay to your game console, with a USB cable, and entering the codes through the Code Manager program. Only use one code at a time. Enter the code as it appears, in capital letters. The codes are as follows:.

Step 6. Launch Pokémon Platinum with the Action Replay
Insert the game card into the Action Replay and then the Action Replay into the slot provided. The game card should be facing you.
Step 7. Hold R+L while entering a Pokemart
In this way the code is activated.
Step 8. Talk to the man in green
The Member's Card will become available when you talk to a man in green, in any Pokemart.
Step 9. Go to the Harbor Inn
It's the little house north of the Pokemon Center in Canalave City.
Step 10. Talk to the man
You will have to lie on a bed. You will travel to an island in a dream.
Step 11. Enter the forest
This is north of where you arrive on the island. Go up the stairs and follow the path until you see the opening in front of the forest trees.
Once you've reached the island, it's a good idea to save the game
Step 12. Talk to Darkrai
You will see Darkrai floating above the lake. You will start a fight with him.
Step 13. Catch Darkrai
He's at Level 50. He won't be easy to catch; make sure you have plenty of Ultra Balls, Dusk Balls (if you want to catch it at night), and Timer Balls.
