If you have a collection of old original Xbox games in a box somewhere, chances are you can still enjoy them. Many of the games that were released for the original Xbox are compatible with the Xbox 360. Step 1. Install an official hard drive for Xbox 360 if you don't already have one

Step 4. Plug your original Xbox game into the Xbox 360

Step 5. Install the game update when prompted
When you place the game in the console, you may be prompted to download an update. Some games do not require an update to be downloaded, but others require a specific update for the game.
You must be connected to the Internet to download the update file you need to play the game. If you get a message that your game is not compatible, but the list says it is, then you need to make sure your console is connected to the internet
Step 6. Start playing the game
After the update is installed, the game will start. You don't need to download anything in the future to play the game again.
