ESPN is one of the most popular cable channels in the world, with multiple channels broadcasting sports programming 24 hours a day. When you subscribe to ESPN through your cable company, you can log into the app or website with your account information and stream ESPN programs. If this is not possible, you can use another streaming app such as Kodi. This wikiHow teaches you how to watch ESPN programs over the Internet.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Using the official ESPN app

Step 1. Download the official ESPN app
Follow the steps below to install the official ESPN app on iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets:
- Open the App Store on an iPhone and iPad, or the Google Play Store on Android smartphones and tablets.
- Press To search (iPhone only)
- type ESPN in the search bar.
- Press DOWNLOAD or TO INSTALL next to the ESPN app.

Step #2. Open the ESPN app
The ESPN app is a white icon with a red "E" as its logo. You can tap the icon on your home screen or in the apps list, or TO OPEN in the App Store or Google Play Store once the download and installation is complete.
The first time you open the ESPN app, the app may want to access your photos, media files, and location. Press 'Allow' to continue

Step 3. Press the Register button or Login.
If you already have an account with ESPN, you can go straight to login and use your username and password associated with your account. If you don't have an account, press Register and enter an email address and your desired password. Then press Register to create an account.

Step 4. Choose your favorite leagues and press Next
The first time you sign in to your ESPN account, you will need to choose your favorite leagues (i.e. NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, UFC, etc.) Choose the leagues you want to receive notifications for. Then press Next one in the lower right corner.

Step 5. Choose your favorite leagues and press the Finish button
Tap on one of the leagues on the left to choose a league. Then press the logo of your favorite team. Choose as many teams as you want. Press Complete in the lower right corner when you're done.

Step 6. Press the Watch icon

This is the icon at the bottom of the screen. It's just next to the icon that looks like a "Play" triangle.

Step 7. Press a video
At the top of the page are multiple videos from Live ESPN channels. You can also scroll down to see a list of pre-broadcast TV episodes and short videos. You can also browse the list of sports or team videos.

Step 8. Press the Sign Up button with your TV provider (Android only)
On Android, you can preview a video before signing up with your TV provider. When it is allowed to preview a video without logging in, press the blue button Sign up with your TV provider to sign up.

Step 9. Tap on your TV service provider
Press the service provider that offers you live TV. This could be your satellite or cable TV provider (i.e. Telenet, VOO, Ziggo, KPN, etc.) or a live TV streaming service (i.e. Hulu+, YouTube TV, Sling TV).
- If you don't have a TV service provider, press Find a TV provider to view a list of live TV services you can sign up for. These include internet streaming services and cable and satellite television providers in your geographic area.

Step 10. Enter your TV service provider's account information
In some cases, the ESP app can detect your TV service provider through your wireless internet. If not, please enter the username and password associated with your TV service provider to verify your TV service provider's subscription information.

Step 11. Press

to cast to your smart TV (optional).
If you have a smart TV that supports Smart Cast, you can press the icon that resembles a TV screen with radio waves to cast the video to your TV. You can find the icon in the top right corner of the app.
Method 2 of 4: Using a TV streaming app

Step #1. Open a live TV app
Most cable and satellite TV service providers have an app that you can download to stream live TV over the internet. Some of these apps include Xfinity Stream, Fios TV, DirecTV App, and Dish Anywhere. If you're not getting TV through a cable or satellite TV provider, you can subscribe to a TV streaming service like Hulu+, YouTube TV, or Sling TV.
- You can download these TV streaming apps from the App Store on iPhone and iPad, or the Google Play Store on Android smartphones and tablets.
- You can also watch live TV through a web browser on the official page of your TV streaming service provider.
- Contact your TV service provider to find out if you have a subscription to a TV package that includes ESPN.

Step 2. Sign in to your account
Use the username or email and password associated with your TV service provider to sign in to your live TV streaming app.
- Satellite and cable streaming apps may require you to create a new account. To do this, press To register, create an account or the like. Then fill in the form with your account information, username or email address, and a desired password to create an account.

Step 3. Press the option to see a list of TV shows
Each app is a little different, they usually have tabs that you can press to see different display options at the bottom. Press the option with the text TV, Live, Live TV, Guide, Watch now, or the like.

Step #4. Scroll down and choose an ESPN channel
The list of TV channels varies from service provider to service provider. Scroll down until you find an ESPN channel. Press it when you find it. This will start streaming the channel or a pop-up will appear with a button that reads To look, Stream or something similar. Press the option to watch the channel.
There are multiple ESPN channels. Your TV subscription may not include them all. Contact your TV service provider for available options and packages
Method 3 of 4: Using ESPN.com

Step 1. Surf to https://www.espn.com using a web browser
This is the official ESPN website.

Step #2. Click on the Watch button
This button is located on the right side of the menu bar, at the top of the browser window.

Step 3. Click on a video
At the top of the page are multiple videos from live ESPN channels. You can also scroll down to watch pre-recorded TV episodes and short videos. You can also browse the list of videos arranged by sport or team.
- To view content labeled "ESPN+", you must have a paid subscription.
- Programs without a key icon next to or below it can be viewed online right away.

Step 4. Choose your TV service provider
Click on the name of the company that offers you live TV. This could be your satellite or cable TV service provider (i.e. Telenet, VOO, Ziggo, KPN, etc.) or a live TV streaming service (i.e. Hulu+, YouTube TV, Sling TV).

Step 5. Enter your TV service provider's account information
In some cases, the ESPN website may detect your TV service provider through your wireless internet. If not, please enter the username and password associated with your TV service provider to verify your TV service provider's subscription information. The video will play once your account details have been verified.
Method 4 of 4: Using Kodi

Step #1. Download and install Kodi
Kodi is a free, open-source media player and streaming app. You can download it for Windows and macOS on the page https://kodi.tv/, from the Google Play Store on Android devices or via TweakBox on iPhone and iPad. It is also available for Amazon Fire Stick.
- This method may not be legal everywhere. It is recommended to use a VPN when streaming channels through Kodi.
- Kodi add-ons can be unpredictable. You may not be able to install the necessary add-ons needed to watch ESPN through Kodi.

Step #2. Launch Kodi
Kodi is a blue icon with a white letter 'K' in it. Click or press the icon to launch Kodi on your computer, smartphone or tablet.

Step 3. Click or press Videos
This button is located next to the filmstrip-like icon in the menu on the left.

Step 4. Click or press the Video Add-ons button
It's the black button with an icon that looks like a film strip.

Step 5. Click or press the Options button
This button is located next to an icon that resembles a gear in the lower left corner.

Step 6. Click or press the More button
This button is located at the bottom of the options menu on the left.

Step 7. Scroll down and click or press the ESPN3 button
All add-ons are listed in alphabetical order. Scroll down and click or press 'ESPN3'.

Step 8. Click or press the Install button
It's the blue button with a cloud-like icon with an arrow pointing down.

Step 9. Click or press the Ok button
This button is located in the top right corner of the window in the middle of the screen. With any luck, this action will install the ESPN3 add-on with all the necessary dependencies.

Step 10. Go back to the video add-ons menu
To return to the video add-ons menu, press the 'Esc' button on your computer keyboard or press the button to return to Android.

Step 11. Click or press the ESPN3 button
This button is in the list of video add-ons. You can always find the ESPN3 video add-on and other video add-ons in the video add-ons menu.

Step 12. Click or press an ESPN channel
You will see a list of multiple ESPN channels. Choose one of them to load the channel and watch it in Kodi.
