Do you like watching movies and videos, but with subtitles? Then this article may help you to add subtitles to VLC media player.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Using the menu (new version of VLC)

Step 1. Open your video with the latest version of VLC player
Right click on the video > Open with > 'VLC media player'.

Step 2. Select 'Subtitles' from the main menu and select 'Add Subtitle File'
You can also right click on the video. Then select 'Subtitles' > 'Add Subtitle File'

Step 3. Select your subtitle file
Find the subtitle file (.srt) of that particular video and click the 'Open' button.

Step 4. Enjoy your movie with subtitles
Method 2 of 3: Using the menu settings (old version of VLC)

Step 1. Check if you have the subtitle track of the movie/video on your computer
If not, download it from the internet first.

Step 2. Play your movie/video with VLC media player

Step 3. Click on the video button on the main menu

Step 4. Select 'Subtitle Track' option and click 'Open File' (a dialog box will pop up)

Step 5. Select the subtitle track of that particular movie/video

Step 6. Click on the 'Open' button

Step 7. Watch your movie/video with subtitles

Method 3 of 3: By renaming the file (both versions of VLC)

Step 1. Save the subtitle track in the same folder as the movie
Give the subtitle file the same name as the movie file.

Step 2. Launch the video
By changing the name, the subtitle should appear automatically after starting the movie or video.
