For carnival or for a play it may be necessary to make a fake black eye. Or maybe you want to call in sick from work or school. Either way, with some makeup and creativity you can create a realistic black eye in about five minutes!
Steps

Step 1. Wash your skin and dry it well before you start
Otherwise it can get irritating. And like an artist, you want to start with a clean canvas.

Step 2. Apply black eye pencil all over your eyeball, including on your eyelid
Focus on the area under your eye, near your nose. Blur the eye pencil with a tissue wrapped around your finger for a softer effect. Be careful to blur the edges realistically.
Lighten the area directly below your eye and the line that forms a crescent moon below your eye. Those two areas always swell the most when you've had a blow there

Step 3. Apply a layer of matte, dark purple eyeshadow over the eye pencil
Lighten the edge of the nose where you hit (at the corner of your eye) and the part just below the eye.
A cream-based eyeshadow is more effective, but a matte powder also works

Step 4. Put a little bit of dark red eyeshadow or lipstick on it
Use a makeup sponge if you have one to make a scratch. Concentrate the red at the corner of your eye, near the tear duct and on top of your cheekbone at the outer corner of your eye.

Step 5. Apply dark blue or dark brown eyeshadow in the inner corner of the eye and on the lid
First, dab the brush on your hand so as not to get too much makeup in one place.

Step 6. Finish it off by mixing in some yellow or light green
Apply these colors to the outer corner of the eye, to the eye socket and to the lower edge of the "bruise". As a bruise fades, it turns yellow/greenish in the final stage.

Tips
- Do not do this if you are sensitive to makeup.
- A black eye is caused by blood sinking under the skin to its lowest point (the area between the nose, eye, and cheekbone), so make sure to emphasize those areas when applying makeup.
- Use matte eyeshadow -- glitter ruins the effect!
- A black eye is often caused by a blow to the forehead or the eye socket. To make it even more real, you can also paint a small bruise in those places.
